Meet Karisma
A therapist who sees the whole you.
Hi, I’m Karisma (she/her).
I’m a psychotherapist, meditation teacher, and fellow traveler on this beautifully imperfect human path. For over 20 years, I’ve walked alongside people through grief, growth, burnout, identity shifts, and all the quiet in-between spaces where healing begins.
My approach blends evidence-based practices like CBT, IFS, and mindfulness-based therapy with something deeper; a respect for your story, your culture, your spirit. I believe therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about making space for your truth to unfold, gently, honestly, and without judgment. Sometimes we cry. Sometimes we laugh. Sometimes my cats wander into frame during a telehealth session. It’s all part of the process.
Over the years, I’ve also had the honor of working closely with the queer community. Providing gender affirming care is an essential part of my practice and my heart. As an ally, I hold space for every layer of your identity, so you feel deeply seen, safe, and celebrated.
If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite fit the mold, like therapy wasn’t built with you in mind, I get it. My practice is here to meet you where you are, especially if you’re navigating complex identities, chronic illness, or the weight of being the one everyone else leans on.
My Background
I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University and have been in practice for over 23 years. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both New York and Florida, and I’ve spent my career supporting people of all backgrounds, with a focus on those who often feel unseen in traditional spaces.
I work through a lens that’s trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in compassion. In addition to psychotherapy, I offer meditation and mindfulness coaching to help you reconnect with your body, your breath, and your inner clarity.
My Training Includes:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Strength-Based & Compassion-Focused Care
